Arrangements can be made at our premises in Biddulph or Congleton, or in your home. After your initial contact we will ask for preliminary details, whereupon we may advise the removal of the deceased to our private chapel of rest. From here we will arrange a time at your convenience to meet and make arrangements in full.

Legal requirements for Funeral Arrangements

With legal requirements and procedures discussed throughout, our funeral director will help arrange the funeral to your family's specification and standards. With our knowledge of legal requirements, and constant contact with the coroners office, we are able to offer sound advice and alleviate any concerns on such matters.

What to take to the registrar

• Medical certificate of death from the Doctor
• Birth certificate (if available)
• Medical card

Certificates available from the Registrar

• Disposal certificate (green) for the funeral director (no fee)
• Social Security certificate (white) to be handed in at the D.S.S. Office with pension or benefit books (no fee)
• Copy of Entry of Death - there is a charge for each copy of the death certificate

These certificates are used by banks, insurance companies, building societies, probate services etc. Most companies will return the death certificate if you mark it 'To Be Returned'

Disbursements - Fees Paid on your behalf by the Funeral Director

Disbursements are essentially fees incurred that we pay on your behalf. If you would like to make a press announcement, for example, we will pay for it and pass the costs to you by way of the funeral account. This can then be settled with one complete payment from the estate for your convenience.
