Mr Rowe is the founder of R W Rowe. He started sweeping chimneys back in 1963 and has been a member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) since 1991. Since then Mr Rowe has been heavily involved in the chimney industry and is a respected expert in this field. Originally representing the NACS, as their Safety Officer, he worked on a project with the Health & Safety Executive to construct a Guide to Health & Safety for chimney sweeps which is still in use today and has represented them on several Technical Committees including the British Standards Committee, a Chimney Experts Panel on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and at a Congress for the European Federation of Master Chimney Sweeps.
At W R Rowe Chimney Sweeps it is our job to assist in the prevention of chimney fires and reduce the risk of dangerous fume emissions from flue ways, blocked heating appliances and chimneys. We can eliminate the build up of soot from coal, wood, oil and gas fired systems. We can also provide advice on operating your applicances safely and efficiently.
The process will involve a preliminary inspection of your chimney or flue, then we will protect the surrounding area so that soot and debris do not escape into the room. We will use brushes on extending rods to clean the chimney or flue, and remove soot and debris from the fireplace or appliance using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
When the job is completed, we will offer advice to you about any potential hazards and faults and when the chimney or flue will need cleaning again.
