Worcestershire Coat of Arms

The Coat of Arms for Worcestershire

The arms were granted by Patent on 21 May 1947 at a cost of £100. These Arms were used until Worcestershire County Council ceased to exist on 31 March 1974, and re-adopted in 1997. The arms show a tree bearing black pears. Black pears appear in the arms of the City of Worcester, and as such have long been considered a County badge.

Each IBD County Page has or will have (where possible) the relevant Coat of Arms. This is made possible thanks to a fantastic heraldry website called the International Civic Heraldry Website. Sometimes a description is not given due to lack of information, so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. You may visit this superb site by using the link below.
